WACO (December 6, 2012)--Two men and a woman were held Thursday in the McLennan County Jail, charged in connection with an aggravated assault at a party and a later attempt to hide physical evidence of the assault.
Ugzim Imeri, 37, also known as Jimmy Barris, Jessica Anne Denk, 35, and James Kevin Meeks, 43, were awaiting bond Thursday.
Imeri was arrested on a warrant charging two counts of aggravated assault and Denks and Meeks on warrants charging one count of tampering with physical evidence.
Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said Imeri was named in the arrest warrant after an incident at a party in October at a Waco residence.
A police report shows officers were sent to a local hospital emergency room to check on a patient who told them that at around 2:30 a.m. on Oct. 27 he was at a party at a home on Primrose Drive where another man showed up who had not been invited.
When the uninvited man was asked to leave, he pulled a pistol, hit the victim in the head and fired at least one shot, police said.
Officers traced Imeri to his workplace on Hewitt drive and went there Wednesday to arrest him.
As officers arrived, a man and a woman left the restaurant where Imeri worked and took the gun used in the assault with them, police said.
Police later arrested Denk and Meeks for tampering with physical evidence.
