WACO (August 4, 2014) Veteran Waco police Officer Rhonda Spradlin is retiring after 34 years of service.
Spradlin has been with the department since she started as a Cadet in 1980, police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said.
Over the course of her career she has worked as a patrol officer, a resource officer at Waco High School, and also severed in several of the detective units while school was out during the summer.
“She has been widely known by businesses in her beat for frequently stopping by to interact and build rapport,” Swanton said.
“Her friendly outlook and dedication to building positive relationships in our community will be missed,” he said.
Spradllin plans to rear her two adopted foster children and to work to raise awareness about the need for fostering children, Swanton said.
