WACO (October 30, 2012)--A local dental practice hopes to cut down on cavities and increase troop morale.

Kool Smiles announced an initiative Tuesday, Operation Troop Treats, in which children can turn in their Halloween candy in exchange for toys.

Operation Gratitude will then send the candy to troops serving overseas.

The dentistry will also be providing tooth brushes, toothpaste and shipping funds for the care packages.

From Thursday through Saturday during regular business hours Kool Smiles will exchange 25 pieces of unopened candy for 1 toy.

Candy must be in its original packaging and individual sticks of gum will not be accepted.

Kool Smiles has locations on N. Valley Mills Drive and Walton Drive.
