WACO (November 14, 2012)--The Waco Downtown Farmers Market will spend their first anniversary with the community, hosting a big celebration.
Saturday’s fun kicks off at 9 a.m. with Waco Mayor Malcolm Duncan Jr. to provide comments and Waco Music Co-op to offer the entertainment of several local musicians.
Children’s activities will include face painting, a petting zoo, art activities, soap ball making and coil pot making.
A yoga class will also be available for the whole family and vendors will be lined up to showcase their products and food to include fresh bread, cheese, barbeque and more.
The soap ball making and coil pot making will cost a small fee.
“The entire community has helped to make the market a success over the last year, so it’s only right that everyone join in the celebration as well,” board member Sara Shoup said.
The event will end around 3 p.m.
The Waco Downtown Farmers Market is a year-round open-air market at 400 S. University Parks Drive that hosts farmers and vendors from within 150 miles of Waco.
