WACO (December 5, 2012)--The Arthritis Foundation is looking for runners and walkers to be there with bells on for the 23rd annual Waco Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis.

The 5k run and 1-mile walk will get started at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the Cameron Park Zoo.

Registration begins at 4:30 p.m.

This year’s event will also include the 6/10 of a mile Snowman Shuffle for children under 13 and costume contests.

The wheelchair division will begin at 5:30 p.m. as well.

Each year the event honors a hero with arthritis and this year’s honoree is 2-year-old Julia Mills Kehlenbach.

“Mills” was diagnosed with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis) after she refused to go down the stairs. Her left knee and both ankles are infected with the disease.

So far, $28,211 of the $65,000 goal has been reached to fight arthritis.

Online registration ends Friday.
