WACO (February 21, 2013)--A local tattoo shop will host a fundraiser Saturday to help support a local boy diagnosed with leukemia.
State of the Art Tattoo will offer tattoos of the green childhood leukemia awareness ribbon for $20 and all proceeds will go to eight-year-old Cameron Halvorson.
Cameron was first diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) in 2005 and overcame the disease after extensive chemotherapy.
In August of 2011 Cameron was re-diagnosed with leukemia and has undergone several surgeries.
To help with medical bills, Cameron's mother Corin Raymond, created an account through Give Forward, a donation website.
The online fundraiser ends Thursday, February 28, and has raised over $1,000 for Cameron who dreams of one day becoming a tattoo artist.
He will spend Saturday at the tattoo shop watching the artists.
State of the Art Tattoo will also hold a silent auction as part of the fundraiser which includes items and gift cards donated by local organizations.
It begins at noon and will end at 8 p.m.
