Waco: Students To Participate In National Reading Challenge

WACO (February 21, 2014) Waco Charter School students will take part in the Annual Read the Most Coast to Coast event next Friday.

Read the Most Coast to Coast is a nationwide reading challenge that encourages students to read more and participate in an event to try to beat the record for the number of accelerated reader quizzes taken in one day.

More than 200 students at Waco Charter School will take part in the challenge with teachers setting goals for their students to reach by creating classroom activities and prizes to be given out to the top readers.

The quizzes will be tracked by Renaissance Learning which is an Accelerated Reader program.

Last year, students across the country set a new one-day record of 4,409,622 quizzes.
