WACO (January 16, 2013)--Nearly 80 students from across Texas were in Waco Wednesday to take part in the FFA Tractor Technician Competition at TSTC.

Several community businesses provided prizes and support for the participants, who paired up in teams of three to test their mechanical skills.

As part of the competition, students were required to debug a tractor that had been rigged as well as complete a written component test.

The top winners from each FFA district qualified to move on to the state competition in March in Houston.

The event lasted 3 hours in the Diesel Mechanics Lab on campus.

A list of winners had not been released Wednesday afternoon.
