WACO (February 5, 2014) Three men, two of them brothers, were indicted Wednesday in connection with a November aggravated robbery.
Brothers Jose Raul Navarette, 18, and Franco Geovani Navarette, 17, and Lathan Bayne Wiley, 17, all were named in indictments in connection with the Nov. 16, 2013 aggravated robbery.
Officers were sent at around 12:20 p.m. on that day to a residence on North 29th Street where an 18-year-old man told officers he had been beaten and robbed at an apartment building near downtown Waco.
The victim told officers a friend had asked him to come to an apartment in the Glenwood apartment complex for a visit.
When the victim arrived he was confronted by the friend and two other men, one of whom he did not know.
The three began assaulting the victim, hit him in the face and knocked him the ground, then began kicking him.
During the assault the three men took the victim's cellular telephone.
One of the attackers pulled a handgun and pointed it at the victim, then told him not to call police or report the attack to anyone.
After the beating and robbery the victim returned to his home and called police.
The police report shows the victim suffered a black eye and abrasions to his arms and back.
The victim did not require medical attention, Swanton said.
