WACO (February 28, 2013)--The Waco Lake day parks will be closing two-and-a-half hours earlier starting Friday.

The Twin Bridges and Koehne parks which open from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. will now be open from 6 a.m. until 8:30 p.m.

The change was made after the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers monitored the usage of the parks and learned that most visitors complete their activities shortly after sunset.

They also hope that any undesirable night activity in the parks will be discouraged with the changing of the hours.

New signage will be posted and boaters will be able to exit ramps using the night exits.
