Fertilizer Companies Blame West VFD, Others, For Deadly Explosion

The fertilizer companies that are the target of a lawsuit over the April 2013 West fertilizer plant explosion have filed a response in which they blame the West Volunteer Fire Department, Adair Grain, a golf cart manufacturer and a mystery man for the blast.

West: Waiting on FEMA

The City of West is awaiting final approval from FEMA so work can begin to repair infrastructure damaged by the April 17, 2013 fertilizer plant explosion.

A northbound I-35 entrance ramp and an exit ramp close Monday night in West as work begins on a new northbound frontage road and highway mainlanes.
