Waco: Central Library Ribbon Cutting Date Set

WACO (January 31, 2013)—A ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. Feb. 23 will mark the reopening of the renovated Waco-McLennan County Central Library.

The library is planning a variety of activities for residents of all ages and refreshments will be served.

Staff members started work this week on making the move back to the library at 1717 Austin Ave. from the library’s temporary home at 1603 Washington, Ave.

The building underwent a $6 million makeover, the cost of which was covered by a bond issue, which Waco residents approved in 2007.
