WACO (July 23, 2013)--A 73-year-old man died of what may have been a self-inflicted gunshot wound early Tuesday morning at a Providence Park care facility in Waco.

Police, deputies, firefighters and paramedics were sent at around 5:50 a.m. Tuesday to Providence Park West, at 300 West Loop 340 after a caller reported a man had been shot.

McLennan County Justice of the Peace W.H. "Pete" Peterson pronounced the man dead at the scene and ordered an autopsy.

Peterson said there was no indication of foul play, but said he ordered the autopsy because the death was unattended.

The facilities in Providence Park offer a range of services from apartments to long-term nursing care.
