KILLEEN (December 3, 2012)--Over the next five years the Killeen-Temple-Fort Hood Metropolitan Statistical Area is expected to experience the third largest percentage growth in households, according to Pitney Bowes Software’s inaugural Metro Magnets Index.

The City of Killeen says this is significant because it reinforces Killeen’s prosperity and continuance to grow.

According to the software, between 2012 and 2017 the MSA is expected to add 10,874 households, increasing the total number of households by 7.2 percent.

Provo-Orem, Utah and Austin-Round Rock-San Marcos take the top two spots respectively.

“Projected household growth is a critical indicator for the economic prospects of a specific geographic area, and this data can help real estate, retail and a range of other businesses, plan their growth strategy scientifically,” Pitney Bowes Software President John O’Hara said.

The Pitney Bowes Software is created to develop trending models based on historical MicroBuild household estimates from The Gadberry Group and county trending from the Census Bureau.
