BELTON (February 8, 2013)--I-35 mainlanes will close Monday night as TxDOT crews work on the new Loop 121 bridge.

Beginning at 7 p.m. TxDOT will close the northbound lanes of I-35 under the Loop 121 bridge.

At 9 p.m. drivers headed south will need to exit at #292 (Loop 121) and reenter the freeway south of Loop 121.

Both directions will be closed but the closure should only last during the nighttime hours.

The Loop 121 crossing will also be closed starting at 5:30 p.m.

Those headed westbound will be detoured to the northbound frontage road to FM 436 and then back onto the southbound frontage road.

Eastbound traffic on Loop 121 will be detoured to the southbound frontage road to Shanklin Road and then back onto the northbound frontage road.

The closures are only expected to last for a few hours and detour signs will be in place.
