.MARLIN (April 3, 2013)--A mentalist performance to raise money for Marlin Middle School students will be held at Palace Theatre beginning Friday.

The performance by First Baptist Church Pastor Black Herridge, will take place Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m.

Tickets will cost $8 for adults and $5 for children under 12.

The show will raise money for middle school students traveling to Washington D.C this summer.

"It's basically like a magic show except you tell people what they are thinking," Herridge explains.

Herridge has done shows as a mentalist throughout the state in the past and decided it would be a good way to help fundraise, he said.

The church decided to help middle school students with fundraising because they felt it was a unique opportunity for the students.

" Every year these kids work their hearts out trying to raise money and we wanted to show the community that we care," Herridge said.

All proceeds from the show will go directly to helping Marlin Middle School students visit the capital.

"Marlin is so excluded from the rest of the world," Herridge said.

"Falls County is one of the poorest counties in Texas, some of these kids will never get another chance like this."
