ROCKDALE (April 5, 2013)--A Rockdale man was arrested Thursday on a warrant stemming from a storage trailer fire and explosion.
Darion Xorell Ramirez, 19, of Rockdale, was arrested by Rockdale police on a warrant charging arson that stems from an incident on Feb. 7 in which a man suffered serious burns from a storage trailer fire and explosion on East Cameron Avenue.
The trailer contained outdoor equipment including lawnmowers, Rockdale Police Chief Thomas Harris said.
According to police, a man walked an estimated half block to a convenience store where the clerk noted the man had serious burns to his face, hands, arms and legs.
Police were called and the man was transported by ambulance to Richards Memorial Hospital and then flown by helicopter to Scott & White Hospital in Temple, Harris said.
Ramirez was released Thursday from the Milam County Jail after posting $25,000 bond.
Police do not know a motive for the fire.
