Temple: Airshow Honors WWII Vets

TEMPLE (May 3, 2013)--“Heroes and Legends,” the Central Texas Airshow honoring WWII Vets at the Draughon-Miller Central Texas Regional Airport began Friday.

The event will continue Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and a briefing room will allow attendees to chat with some local heroes throughout the day.

Some of the veterans expected to attend are Colonel John “Jack” Oliver, a WWII Army Air Corps/USAF Bombardier Navigator. Oliver flew 53 missions including some in Germany, Austria, and northern Italy.

Others expected to attend are Huie Lamb, a WWII Pilot and J.C Alston, a Pearl Harbor Survivor.
