WEST (May 24, 2013)--Bingo Charities throughout Texas are teaming up to raise money for the West Volunteer Fire Department (VFD) following the West Fertilizer Plant explosion that killed 15, many of them first responders.
On Saturday, June 1, bingo halls across Texas will host a one-day bingo blowout to raise funds for the VFD.
"We're honored to fundraise on behalf of the West Volunteer Fire Department and our hearts go out to the people of West during this difficult time," Director of Enterprises at the Clements Boys & Girls Club, John Anderson said.
The Boys & Girls club is just one of the many organizations participating in the event to help support the department.
"The West VFD has supported its operations for many years by hosting regular bingo games and we're proud to band together with other charitable bingo halls across the state to provide assistance to our neighbors," Anderson said.
