BARTLETT (September 12, 2012)-The town comes to life beginning Friday with its annual Old Town Festival.
The festival kicks off in the evening as participants in the BBQ cook-off begin setting up.
The Bartlett Bulldogs will host their homecoming football game against CTCS at 7:30 p.m.
Friday night continues with free music, vendors, a chili cook-off, a carnival, and a co-ed softball tournament that continues on Saturday.
A 5K Run to Zambia is also scheduled for Saturday, followed by a parade, horses, floats, antique cars, clowns, and more.
The streets will be filled with vendors and mouthwatering smells as the Texas BBQ and bean cook-off picks up pace.
The city will host the Lone Star Garden Tractor Pullers Association tractor pull as well.
The day winds down with the Boot Scootin' Street Dance starting at 8 p.m. on Clark Street featuring The Mark Richey Band.
Visitors interested in quieter activities can visit the Bartlett Museum and Bartlett Activities Center, a spokesperson said.
Several class reunions will also take place this weekend.
