Bell County: Authorities Seize 4 Pounds Of Meth, Arrest 5

BELL COUNTY (October 2, 2013)--Organized Crime Unit officers seized a large amount of methamphetamine after an extended investigation in Bell County that led to the arrest of five people.

Christopher Alvarez, 31, Stephanie Renee Steen, 31, and Pablo Vasquez, all of Dallas, were held Wednesday in the Bell County Jail on unspecified charges and without bond, jail records showed.

Gonzalo Baldovinos, 27, and Jamie Sanchez, 18, both were held in the McLennan County Jail without bonds, charged with possession of a controlled substance and on immigration detainer.

Organized Crime Unit deputies, assisted by police from Killeen, Temple, Woodway, Lorena, agents from the Department of Public Safety, deputies from McLennan County and U.S. Marshals recently concluded an investigation into the distribution of large quantities of crystal methamphetamine in the Bell County Area.

In all authorities say they seized almost 3.9 pounds of crystal methamphetamine, about $14,000 in cash and three firearms.

Bell County deputies say the drugs have an approximate street value of $140,000.
