BELL COUNTY (January 17, 2013)--A Bell County man pleaded guilty Thursday in Waco's federal court to possession of child pornography.

U.S. District Judge Walter S. Smith, Jr., set Willard I Jones for sentencing on March 13.

In a criminal affidavit presented at the plea hearing, U.S. Postal Inspectors said on Oct. 17, 2012, agents of the U.S. Postal Service began an undercover investigation into the use of the Internet to obtain depictions of child pornography.

In her affidavit, Inspector Kathryn D. Lara said after identifying Jones as a suspect, a federal search warrant was served at his Bell County residence and several DVD were seized on which child pornography later was found.

The affidavit goes on to say that during an interview with inspectors, Jones admitted to being sexually attracted to young boys around the ages of 13 or 14, but stated he did not have any actual child pornography in his possession.

But investigators also seized two external computer hard drives on which they found inappropriate photographs of young children engaging in sexual activity.

In all, more than 1,000 pictures and 100 videos of pornographic activity were seized.
