BELLMEAD (July 29, 2013)--A Bellmead woman was held Monday in the McLennan County Jail charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Beverly Lee Petty, 47, was ordered held in lieu of $3,000 bond according to the McLennan County online jail list.

Bellmead police Detective Michael Miller said officers were sent Saturday to a room at the Delta Inn after a caller reported an assault.

When police arrived, a man who told them had been struck in the head with a cooking pot by a woman who was angry because he had changed channels during a Clint Eastwood movie marathon.

The pot with which he was struck was still hot from the cooking plate on which it had been sitting, Miller said.
