BELTON (November 6, 2012)--A Belton man was held Tuesday in the Bell County Jail charged with sexual assault in an incident involving a Belton teenager.
Thomas Sholars, 20, was ordered held in lieu of $15,000 bond.
Belton police Detective Sgt. Larry Berg said Sholars was arrested on a warrant on Monday after the victim's mother reported the sexual assault.
Berg said at about 6 p.m. on Oct. 22, officers were sent to an address on East Avenue N after a teenager's mother called to report that her daughter had been sexually assaulted.
The mother reported her 16-year-old daughter had been in an inappropriate sexual relationship with an older man.
