BELTON (March 7, 2013)--A fundraising event will be held for 14-year-old Caleb Norman, of Moody, who is suffering from Rhabdomysarcoma, a cancerous tumor of the muscles.
Rhabdomyosarcoma is the most common soft tissue tumor in children but remains a rare form of children’s cancer, according to PubMed Health.
On Saturday, fundraising efforts of an all-day event from 12 p.m. until 8 p.m. will help cover travel expenses, lodging, chemo treatments, and other expenses.
A BBQ cookoff and a pie bakeoff will be part of the event along with live music, an auction, and items for sale.
Participants for the cookoff have already been selected and winners of both competitions will receive a trophy.
The fun will get underway at the VFW post located at 2311 S. Pearl Street.
There will be a small donation fee to attend.
