BELTON (February 22, 2013)--Gun rights advocates are planning to rally at Confederate Park Saturday.
From 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. speeches will be made every hour in response to what event organizers say was a violation of the Second Amendment.
“On January 16, President Obama issued 23 executive actions against your 2nd Amendment Constitutional right to bear arms. He did this without the consent of Congress which in itself, violates the foundations of the Constitution and coequal branches of government,” an event organizer said.
“Therefore, we will organize locally so we may band together city by city, county by county, state by state and reassert our right to determine our destiny,” he continued.
The “Day of Resistance” will bring in musical guests and organizers said it is open to everyone.
Confederate Park is located at 700 Confederate Park Drive.
