Belton: School District Names Jennifer Conner Miller Heights Elementary Principal, Two 20-Year Teachers Retire

BELTON (March 26, 2013)--Belton ISD approved Monday the hiring of Jennifer Conner as the new principal for Miller Heights Elementary.

Conner is the assistant principal at Tyler Elementary and has spent the last 15 years in education.

According to the school district’s website, she is replacing Deena Cornblum who will be working at another school.

Also discussed at Monday’s meeting was the resignation of teachers, two of which will retire after 20 years in Belton.

After 19 years, Lake Belton Middle School Teacher Donald Brown will retire from teaching 8th grade social studies at the end of this year.

Leon Heights Elementary will also be saying goodbye to their 5th grade teacher, Kathleen McCarty, after 20 years with the district.

She will also retire at the end of the school year.
