BELTON (February 7, 2013)--A free storm spotter training program will be offered to residents on Saturday.
The class will be held at the Belton ISD Administration Building at 9 a.m. and will continue throughout the day with more advanced sessions in the afternoon.
The SKYWARN severe weather program runs from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. and will cover thunderstorm formation and features associated with severe storms.
Attendees will leave the event with the knowledge of how to recognize a real storm as well as non-threatening clues that are often mistaken for a serious feature of a storm.
The session will be in a multimedia format featuring photographs taken in 2012 of severe weather.
Residents do not need to register and are not required to stay for the entire event.
The Belton ISD Administration Building is located on N. Wall Street.
