BELTON (March 1, 2013)--UMHB announced Friday plans to add a new degree to their list of doctoral programs offered.
The Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree program will be the second doctoral program offered by the university, the first being the Doctor of Education degree.
According to a university spokesperson, competition into the program is very intense and DPT graduates currently have a 99 percent national employment rate.
The program will comply with Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) requirements and there are only 11 CAPTE-accredited programs in the state.
The program is expected to begin in the fall of next year.
