BELTON (September 5, 2012)--UMHB will hold a special ceremony Friday dedicating the new Cummins Field House, a building that will include new locker rooms, a training room, and storage and laundry room facilities for the football team.
The facility is adjacent to the Anderson Field House which could later expand to allow a meeting room and fitness facility spaces, a university spokesperson said.
The building is primarily for the football team which has an average of about 175 student athletes.
The Cummins Field House was named for Chris and Cindy Cummins of College Station.
Chris graduated from the university in 1975 and now serves as the senior vice president of Proppant, which supplies product for the petroleum industry, a university spokesperson said.
The ceremony will take place at 3 p.m. in front of the building.
Guided tours will be provided following the ceremony.
