BRUCEVILLE-EDDY (December 18, 2012)--A Bruceville-Eddy man was held Tuesday in the McLennan County Jail charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child.
John David Schwarck, 40, was ordered held in lieu of $30,000 bond, charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child younger than 14.
A sheriff's office spokesman said Schwarck turned himself in Monday after he learned there a warrant had been issued for his arrest.
According to an arrest affidavit says a 12-year-old girl reported she was sexually assaulted in May 2011 at a residence in Bruceville-Eddy.
The victim made an outcry to a friend and eventually was interviewed by caseworkers from the Child Protective Services division of the Department of Family and Protective Services and that led to a police investigation.
Records show Schwarck is a registered sex offender and has twice been arrested for failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements.
