BRUCEVILLE-EDDY (January 15, 2013)—A report of a one-vehicle accident at around 6:45 p.m. in the 200 block of Franklin in Bruceville-Eddy led to the arrests of a man and a woman.

When officers arrived at the accident scene, they found a man wandering around who police say was under the influence of narcotics.

He was arrested.

Officers then determined that a woman who was also riding in the truck left the scene and went to the Family Dollar Store on 3rd Street, where she took some DVDs and other items before taking off on foot, police said Tuesday.

Officers later found her walking on Raby Road.

She was arrested for theft.

Officers found the stolen items at her residence on Moss Road, police said.

The two were taken to the McLennan County Jail.

James Ray Norris, 41, was charged with drug possession and driving with an invalid license.

He was freed after posting bonds totaling $7,000.

Lyssa Yevonne Mayhall, 32, was charged with theft over $50, but under $500.

She was freed on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond.
