BRUCEVILLE-EDDY (July 3, 2013)--The southbound access road along Interstate 35 in Bruceville-Eddy was closed Wednesday morning after a large trailer flipped over and dumped a load of tools onto the roadway.

The accident happened at around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday after the driver of a pickup truck pulling the large trailer loaded with tools exited the highway and the truck veered onto the shoulder.

A Department of Public Safety trooper said the pickup truck almost hit a parked car and when the driver veered back onto the pavement, the trailer separated from the hitch and overturned.

No one was injured.

The driver told a News 10 reporter that he and his wife were heading home to McAllen from a job site in Kansas City, Kan.

Paramedics with Scott & White EMS checked both the man and his wife out while at the scene but neither required medical attention.

Crews were at the scene at about 11:20 a.m. clearing the debris from the roadway.
