CAMERON (September 17, 2012)—A fourth arrest has been made in an online social media solicitation of a minor sting that snared former Rockdale High School football star Derek David, 19.

The sting targeted individuals who were attempting to have sex with a 15-year-old girl, police said.

David, 19, was arrested last Tuesday and charged with online solicitation of a minor/sexual conduct and attempted sexual assault of a child in a two-week investigation of the exploitation of minors through the social media site Facebook.

On Saturday, police arrested Ebodio “Bobby” Duarte, 21, of Buckholts.

He was charged with online solicitation of a minor/sexual conduct, attempted sexual assault of a child and unlawfully carrying a weapon.

Police earlier arrested Devin Hemphill, 21, and Ricky Matthew Lopez, 22, both of Cameron, in the probe.

They were each charged with online solicitation of a minor/sexual conduct and attempted sexual assault of a child.

David was free on bond at the time of his arrest on a second-degree felony sexual assault charge stemming from an incident in March 2011 involving a 16-year-old girl who said she was lured to a home to play video games and then was forced inside and sexually assaulted.

The victim told police she pleaded with her attacker to stop, but he refused.

In May 2011, David was arrested and charged with possessing drugs on campus after authorities seized a small quantity of marijuana.

He also posted bond on that charge.

David was a 6-foot, 4-inch, 225-pound junior linebacker whom several major colleges were recruiting.
