Cameron: Man Sentenced To Prison For Murder Of Woman He Lived With

A 47-year-old man was sentenced to prison Tuesday after pleading guilty earlier to murder in the 2012 shotgun slaying of a woman with whom he lived.

CAMERON (May 7, 2013)--Stephen Lenard Daniell, 47, of Rockdale, who pleaded guilty in March to murder in the May 2012 shotgun slaying of Shelia Owens, 49, with whom he was living, was sentenced to 60 years in prison Tuesday.

State District Judge John W. Youngblood rejected Daniell’s claim of sudden passion before sentencing, prosecutors said Tuesday.

Daniell reported the shooting, which happened on May 6, 2012.

Officers found Owens dead of a single shotgun blast to the head in the driveway of the home she and Daniell shared at 804 North Wilcox St. in Rockdale.
