(August 31, 2012)--Come January 1, there will be an increase in toll road charges for roads included in the Central Texas Turnpike System.
The system includes: Loop 1, SH 45 North, SH 45 southeast, and SH 130 (segments 1-4).
TxDOT says the changes will make fees more compatible with other toll fees charged regionally and provide for increases that will keep pace with the consumer price index in the future.
TxDOT did not provide how much of an increase will be charged to drivers.
TxDOT encourages drivers who frequently use toll roads to apply for a TxTag.
A TxTag information booth will be set up at the Central Texas State Fair beginning Friday.
