CENTRAL TEXAS (January 23, 2013)--Bell and Coryell counties’ homeless count will take place Thursday and will be used to measure the counties' progress in ending homelessness.
Killeen individuals along with KCOPS volunteers and TAMU-Central Texas will conduct the survey by visiting areas often frequented by the homeless.
The person’s gender and age range will be collected, but personal information will not be asked for.
The street count will give the counties leverage when applying for federal or private aid, measure the counties’ progress in ending homelessness, increase public awareness and assist the counties in implementing effective services to combat the issue.
