COPPERAS COVE (October 31, 2012)--Dante LeRoy Cross, 22, of Copperas Cove has been charged with seven counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in an incident on Oct. 23 in which shots were fired at a car after an argument at a local car wash.
Cross was arrested Monday and was later taken to the Coryell County Jail where he was ordered held in lieu of bonds totaling $700,000.
On Oct. 23, officers responded to a report of gunfire in the 600 block of North 1st Street.
They determined that several residents were at a car wash at 602 North 1st St. where four other people with whom they argued confronted them.
After the argument, the four left, but one of them returned with a handgun.
The seven intended victims attempted to escape in a vehicle, but the man began to fire at their 2013 Hyundai Elantra.
One of the seven suffered a minor injury that didn’t require medical treatment.
