COPPERAS COVE (January 15, 2014) A Copperas Cove man was in jail Wednesday charged in connection with an incident in which his stepson was threatened with a bat.

Benny Ray Manning, 51, was ordered held in lieu of $20,000 bond charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, online jail records showed.

An affidavit issued in the case shows Copperas Cove police were sent on Tuesday to a home in the 2000 block of Josie Circle after a woman called and reported a disturbance.

When police officers arrived they found a man sitting on the front porch and another man and two women inside the home.

One of the women told officers that an argument between the two men, identified as a father and his adult son, had turned violent and that the older man had picked up a baseball bat with which he threatened his son, authorities said.

No one was injured.
