COPPERAS COVE (August 30, 2013)—The Coryell County Grand Jury has indicted two people on three counts each of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection with a shooting on July 5 in Copperas Cove that left three people injured
Misty Nichole Lane, 38, and Andrew Norris, 27, were named in the indictments, which stem from the shooting in the 200 block of Erby.
According to arrest warrant affidavits, Lane drove Norris to the residence where the shooting occurred as the result of a disturbance at a “Rap Battle.”
Timothy Lamar Brooks was shot in the right hand and lost his right thumb, William Henry Gibbs III was shot in the right foot and left leg and Deontai Rasheed Thomas was shot in both arms.
The three were shot with a 12 gauge shotgun, the affidavits said.
The grand jury also indicted Jason Wade Pruitt of Copperas Cove this week.
He was named in indictments charging aggravated sexual assault of a child and indecency with a child.
He was arrested on July 31 in connection with multiple incidents of sexual abuse of an 11-year-old girl in 2012 and then again the next day on two more warrants in connection with similar incidents involving a second young victim.
One victim’s mother, according to an arrest affidavit, said her daughter reported she had been sexually molested several times.
He victim later told investigators she had been inappropriately touched as many as 10 times, the most recent incident occurring in June.
A second victim, who was 11-years-old at the time of the incidents, told a neighbor and later a counselor that she also had been sexually molested over a period of time when she visited a man’s house in Copperas Cove.
She later told investigators she had been molested since she was in second grade.
