COPPERAS COVE (July 16, 2013)--A Copperas Cove woman was held Tuesday in the Coryell County Jail in connection with a July 5 shooting that injured three people.
Misty Nichole Lane, 38, was ordered held on bonds totaling $90,000, charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Lane was arrested early Monday morning after a justice of the peace signed arrest warrants stemming the shooting in the 200 block of Erby.
Andrew Norris was arrested last week in connection with the shooting and was charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and ordered held in lieu of bonds totaling $450,000.
According to the arrest affidavit, Lane drove Norris to the residence where the shooting occurred.
An affidavit for his arrest said the shooting was the result of a disturbance at a “Rap Battle” after which Norris and two women left the area.
Norris and three unidentified people later returned to the area, the affidavit said, and one of the victims, Timothy Lamar Brooks, approached the vehicle to defuse the situation, the affidavit said.
Brooks told police he talked briefly to Norris, who had a 12-gauge pump shotgun between his legs, and was walking away when he heard Norris get out of the vehicle and “rack the shotgun.”
Brooks was shot in the right hand and lost his right thumb as a result, the affidavit said.
William Henry Gibbs III was shot in the right foot and left leg and Deontai Rasheed Thomas was shot in both arms, the affidavit said.
