COPPERAS COVE (July 30, 2012)---Travis Holt, 41 of Copperas Cove, was arrested, jailed and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon over the weekend after his mother told police she had been threatened with a machete.
His bond was set at $50,000.
Officers responded just after 1 a.m. Saturday to a home in the 2200 block of Phyllis after the 66-year-old victim, who wasn’t identified, called 911 and reported that she woke up as a machete was being swung over her bed.
The woman, who wasn’t injured, locked herself in the bedroom and waited for police to arrive, Copperas Cove police Sgt. Kevin Keller said.
The house was in disarray and several pieces of furniture had been chopped up with a machete, Keller said.
