COPPERAS COVE (September 12, 2012)-The City of Copperas Cove is now using GIS technology to improve the mapping system for online users.

Third Coast Geospatial Technologies, Inc., an Austin-based geospatial technology firm, developed an easy to use Interactive Web Map (IWM) for the city.

The IWM displays layers of mapping information from the city's geographic information system and other state and federal sources.

The IWM is easy to use and provides the public and staff the ability to view map features and create custom maps, a spokesperson said.

"This technology is long overdue and will greatly enhance the capabilities of many city departments," City Manager Andrea Gardner said.

The new Interactive Web Map is available on the City of Copperas Cove website.
