COPPERAS COVE (September 20, 2012)--The Copperas Cove Police Department KIDDO Card Child Identification Program is back.

The KIDDO Card is a child identification card created to identify a child 12 years of age or younger.

The new card will contain the child's full name, date of birth, sex, hair color, eye color, height, weight, guardian's name, address, and a current photo.

The card is designed to be maintained by the guardian to identify the child if necessary, not to be held by a child as a form of self-identification, the police department said.

The KIDDO Card is provided to the officers to help start a search if the child goes missing.

Several city events will be held in which KIDDO Cards will be provided for free to parents.

The program is offered by the Copperas Cove Police Department.
