Copperas Cove (April 11, 2014) Copperas Cove has dedicated a street to another of its homegrown NFL stars.

Charles Tillman Way will connect Constitution Drive in Copperas Cove with Robert Griffin III Boulevard.

Tillman is a cornerback for the Chicago Bears.

He graduated from Copperas Cove High School where he was once a Cove Bulldawg.

This past season Tillman was named the NFL Walter Payton Man of the Year for his work with community charities.

"I really am humbled and thankful that you guys allowed me to be an ambassador for Copperas Cove. I will continue to do my part and try and change as many lives as we can," Tillman said Friday during the dedication ceremony.

The street is under construction and is expected to be completed by June.

Tillman played in eight games in 2013 before going on injured reserve with a torn triceps. He forced six turnovers with three interceptions and three forced fumbles.

Drafted in the second round out of Louisiana-Lafayette in 2003, Tillman has played his entire NFL career with the Bears.
