Corsicana: Two Local Fugitives Arrested In Hawaii

CORSICANA (March 15, 2013)—Two Corsicana men named in warrants issued in January charging aggravated sexual assault of a child were in custody Friday in Hawaii where they were arrested before they could board a flight to a Micronesian island to escape extradition.

Local, state and federal authorities arrested Tarius Manuere, 43, and his brother, Noah Manuere, 40, both of Corsicana, at around 10:30 a.m. CDT Friday at Honolulu International Airport before they could board a plane headed to the island of Marjuro, part of the Federated States of Micronesia, with which the U.S. does not currently have an extradition treaty, police said.

Arrest warrants were issued for the brothers on Jan. 8.
