FALLS COUNTY (August 14, 2012)--Falls County commissioners have voted to institute a ban on outdoor burning, effective immediately.
The ban is effective for two weeks, until Aug. 27, unless officials decide otherwise.
Violators could be fined as much as $500.
The heat and lack of rain have heightened the risk of wildfires in the county and around the state.
