FORT HOOD (September 25, 2012)—Fort Hood Tuesday identified a soldier who died on Sept. 20 after he was found unresponsive in his post residence as Spc. Joel Chuca, 24, of Longmont, Colo,
Chuca died after he was taken to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, Fort Hood said.
He joined the Army in September 2009 and had been assigned since March to 418th Transportation Company, 180th Transportation Battalion, 4th Sustainment Brigade, 13th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary).
The circumstances surrounding his death are under investigation, Fort Hood said Tuesday.
