Fort Hood: Soldier Who Died Of Gunshot Wound Identified

Fort Hood Monday identified a soldier who died earlier this month of a gunshot wound.

FORT HOOD (September 17, 2012)—Fort Hood Monday identified a soldier who died earlier this month of a gunshot wound as CWO 2 Jeremy Fenison, 31, of Las Vegas, Nev.

Fenison died on Sept. 10 at Scott & White Hospital in Temple after he was found with a gunshot wound in Copperas Cove.

Fenison joined the Army in August 1999 and arrived at Fort Hood on Sept. 6 where he was assigned to the 1st Cavalry Division’s 4th Brigade Combat Team.

His awards and decorations include a Bronze Star Medal, three Army Commendation Medals, two Army Achievement Medals, two Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Media with campaign star, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, NATO Medal and Driver and Mechanic Badge, Fort Hood said.
