FORT HOOD (October 2, 2012)—About 1,400 troops assigned to the 1st Cavalry Division’s 4th Brigade Combat Team from Fort Hood are scheduled to deploy to Afghanistan this winter, the Department of Defense announced Tuesday.
About 1,700 troops assigned to the 1st Armored Division Combat Aviation Brigade from Fort Bliss are also scheduled to deploy as part of an upcoming rotation of forces, the military said.
